We believe healing starts from the ground up. That’s why this Earth Day, we’re celebrating one of our own: Chrism Ranch, a local regenerative ranch that’s reviving the soil, restoring health, and reminding us that the good we do for the land always finds its way back to us.

From Generations of Ranching to a Regenerative Mission
In 2018, Chyan and Megan took over the family ranch. A piece of land that has been in Chyan’s family since the late 1800s, originally homesteaded by his great-grandfather. They stepped into a legacy of ranching with deep roots in Montana, but also with a fresh perspective and a growing awareness of how food impacts health.
When Megan began struggling with chronic health issues, it led the couple to take a hard look at the food they were feeding their family and the food they were producing. “We realized that so much of it was full of harmful additives,” they shared, “and it was difficult to find food that was truly nourishing.”
This realization didn’t steer them away from ranching, rather it pulled them deeper into it, in a new and more intentional way. They began to apply Megan’s background in holistic health to their livestock care and land management. Their search for better methods brought them to the principles of regenerative ranching.
Working With Nature, Not Against It
Chrism Ranch now practices rotational grazing, avoids synthetic chemicals, and works in alignment with nature’s cycles. “We believe we support the health of the land through our grazing methods and by working in harmony with Mother Nature,” they said.
The result is a beautiful cycle of health:
from soil to plant, from plant to animal, and ultimately to the consumer. “When the soil is healthy, the plants are healthy, and the cattle consuming the plants are healthy. Ultimately, that passes onto the consumer.”
Building a Healthier Food Future
Megan and Chyan believe that a better food system depends on both producer awareness and consumer support. “We wish more producers realized that it is possible to raise crops and cattle without all the chemical inputs and we wish more consumers understood that it takes their support to create the market for a sustainable food system.”
This Earth Day, let’s celebrate the families who are walking that path. Who are working every day to heal the land and provide real nourishment, the way it’s meant to be.
